How Our Metallic Flooring System Works
Professional preparation, a carefully selected resin system, and hands-on decorative techniques turn concrete into a distinctive interior surface.
Mechanical Surface Preparation
Professional diamond grinding removes contaminants and creates the appropriate surface profile for coating adhesion. Concrete repairs are completed where needed.
MVB Base Coat
Apply the appropriate MVB resin base at the manufacturer-specified thickness. Black, gray, or white is selected only where supported by the specified product and desired effect.
Sherwin-Williams UVE Metallic Decorative Layer
The principal decorative layer uses Sherwin-Williams UVE UV-filtered epoxy and compatible metallic pigments. A 17–20 mil target falls within the manufacturer’s published 15–20 mil metallic application range, subject to the specified system.
Rollers and appropriate artistic techniques create flowing movement, blending, and depth. Patterns may suggest waves or marble; each installation is unique. UV resistance does not mean UV-proof performance.
Clear Aliphatic Urethane Topcoat
After proper cure and any required surface preparation, a compatible clear aliphatic urethane topcoat protects the decorative surface and provides the specified finish. Product compatibility, recoat windows, and cure conditions follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Your project specification confirms the exact base, pigment, resin, topcoat, film thicknesses, and curing requirements. The manufacturer’s published metallic example uses its own compatible primer and pigments; it does not establish compatibility for every MVB or Sika pigment combination.
